Jonathon Pouliot
MS, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Jon Pouliot was born and raised in Rhode Island. After completing his undergraduate studies at Providence College, he moved to North Carolina for his graduate work, receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Master of Science in Clinical Research at Campbell University. Upon graduation, Jon moved to Nashville for post-graduate training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, completing a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY-2 Critical Care Residency. Following training, he worked in critical care and emergency medicine practices before joining the Lipscomb faculty in 2016. Jon serves as an instructor in a variety of courses across the curriculum as well as serving as a preceptor at his inpatient Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine practice site for IPPE and APPE students. His interests include research design and methodology, infectious diseases, critical care medicine, and anticoagulation management. Watch Jon's Speaker Spotlight.
Steven Wei
EdD, MPH, MS, PA-C, DFAAPA
Steven Wei is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Physician Assistant program in 1999 and received his Master in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. He completed his doctorate in education (EdD) in professional leadership with an emphasis in health science education from the University of Houston. For 22+ years, Steven has worked in the Hepatico-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery clinic at MD Anderson Cancer Center and has served as an APP Supervisor in the department of surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center for 12+ years. He is also an adjunct clinical instructor for the BCM PA program and recipient of the BCM Distinguished Young Alumnus Award. In 2018, the American Academy of Physician Assistants recognized him as a Distinguished Fellow. Watch Steven's Speaker Spotlight.
Benjamin Smith
DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, Rheumatology Instructor
Ben is an award-winning Physician Assistant. In the rheumatology setting, he has been treating patients at the McIntosh Clinic based in Thomasville, GA since 1999. He has also served as president at the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals (ARHP) and in other capacities as well. His resume includes serving on various task forces for the American Academy of Physician Assistants, as a Rheumatology Specialty Board Member for the American Board of Internal Medicine, and his current work as an assistant professor and director of didactic education at the Florida State University College of Medicine.
